National Bank of Kuwait (NBK) successfully concluded the second session of its specially designed 2011 Summer Internship Program. The program includes two weeks of custom-made courses geared toward introducing high school and college students, aged 15 to 20 years old, to a professional banking environment.

NBK Assistant General Manager, Treasury Group Sulaiman Al Marzouq honored the interns and explained to them the basics of working in the banking sector and the functions of the Treasury Group.

“NBK is always looking for talent among the young generation, which have creative ideas and are experts in media and internet technology,” Al Marzouq added.

One of the highlights of the internship included a field trip to Al Rai TV. Public Relations and Facilities Manager at Al Rai Media Group Ragaie Al Matarawi and Technical and IT Director at Al Rai TV Khalil Koleilat have received and welcomed the interns.

Koleilat said that this visit reflects the mutual cooperation between NBK & Al Rai TV. Koleilat spoke to the interns about the background and hands-on experience of media.

“NBK’s Summer Internship Program is an extension of our educational outreach services,” said Talal Al Turki, NBK Public Relations Officer. “NBK has a long standing commitment to the development of Kuwait’s youth and this program demonstrates our dedication to providing appropriate opportunities for youth to gain hands on work experience.”
